Unique images from all around the world, impressively decorated cities and shops, bright colors and a magic scattered everywhere, on every trip, in every corner of the earth. The delicious and original Christmas candies in the most special confectioneries make this period even more attractive. So let’s go and do our fairytale Christmas walk, through the photos of Europe’s favorite places.
- Demel, Vienna

Vienna is one of the most popular Christmas destination as it takes us to the world of fairy tales, with fancy decorations and brilliant lights in every part of the city. There we will find the most atmospheric traditional patisserie “Demel”, one of the oldest stores in Vienna, decorated in Christmas colors and flooded with people waiting to enjoy special pastries and all kinds of chocolate cakes. A visit to cosmopolitan Milan during these festive days is the dream of every person who loves beauty and luxury. In this town we can find many remarkable pastry shops, with gilded and ornate interiors, chocolates, sweets and candies, that look like small jewels.

In this place, we can try the Bolo-Rei cake (a recipe from the South France brought to Portugal in the 19th century by Baltazar Rodrigues Castanheiro Filho, especially for this particular patisserie) that is the ultimate sweet Christmas treat. Of course, we do not forget to taste the delicious pasteis de nata tarts, the Portuguese dessert that is famous in all over the world.

On a trip to the icy Northern Europe, and specifically to Aachen in Germany, we get to know the popular local market. There is the marvelous “Middelberg” pastry shop with its candies and its magically decorated shop window. A hot chocolate or a coffee, accompany our break from the Aachen Christmas shopping, in a magical atmosphere. Moreover, in the glamorous window of this special patisserie we will see the famous German stollen buns, decorated as well.
